One of the most charming mansions on the ‘Weg naar Zwartberg’ in the center of Opglabbeek has begun a completely new life with the start of ‘Ellé’Belle.’ The former bank building has been repurposed into a unique, extremely charming holiday home.

HOLIDAY HOME ELLÉ BELLE

In the 1970s, the building served as a municipal office for the Bank Brussel Lambert (BBL). BBL was a Belgian bank that emerged in 1975 from the merger of the Bank of Brussels (since 1871) and the Bank Lambert (since 1930, founded by the Lambert family). In the 1990s, ING made a bid for BBL, and BBL became a wholly-owned subsidiary of ING Group. As a result, the local ING office was ready for expansion and a new look, moving across the street.

After the departure of BBL/ING in 1990, the building served as a private residence for 30 years until recently, at the beginning of 2020.

With the name ‘Ellé’Belle,’ we refer to Elly, the most recent resident of the building.

MUSIC @ ELLÉ BELLE

When you stay in the house, you will notice that music is an important ‘part of the whole’ in the home. The musical facet comes from Louis, Elly’s husband, a passionate pianist fascinated by beautiful sounds.

‘MUSIC, MAESTRO …’

In addition to providing a piano, Louis is happy to let you enjoy a touch of ‘Music Nostalgia’ through many vinyl records and CDs from his music collection. Louis also created the ‘Ellé’Belle’s’ Spotify Playlists to make your stay even more enjoyable.

Anja – daughter of Elly & Louis – passionate about ‘Food & Hospitality’ – founded the Eat@Home Food Concept with her husband in 2002.

The Eat@Home Food Concept – now across the road – with a limited assortment and different values but still successful.

Since 2010, Anja has been traveling the world with her husband Ben and son Olivier, running businesses abroad, including the award-winning ‘The Lombok Lodge Hospitality’ on the beautiful island of Lombok, near Bali, Indonesia.

Anja also arranges complete package tours to Southeast Asia and Indonesia through the travel agency ‘Luxury Indonesia Travel.’ Anja’s story explains the link with ‘Ellé’Belle’ Food Delivery Service and the wooden decorations from The Lombok Lodge Hotel Collection that you will find in the holiday home.

Stan, son of Elly & Louis, runs businesses in automation and technology, including Secumatic Automatic Doors, with his partner. Together with Anja, and under the watchful eye of mom & dad, he is responsible for ‘B* Rentals,’ the company behind the rental of Holiday Home ‘Ellé’Belle.’

In addition to renting apartments/houses and commercial properties on an annual basis – and renting the Holiday House ‘Ellé’Belle’ – holiday apartments on the Belgian coast are also offered.
